Self-Classyfing Pulverizers – Pluristadio Series GR

Such a mill is particularly suitable for medium / high productions and it is able to obtain particle sizes up to 20μm. The multi-stage pulverizer is mainly used for the treatment of minerals, heat- sensitive products, resins, metal oxides and flammable or explosive materials. Thanks to the combined action of the grinding parts and of suitable ventilation flaps, you can obtain at the same time the reduction and the classification of the treated substance.
A series of other characteristics also allows to:

Operate in automatic cycle 24 hours 24.
Work with total inert gas recycling.
Dry the product during the grinding time.
Perform particle coatings with other substances.
Getting more particle sizes at the same time.

Precrushers – Serie PG

Of simple, yet robust design, the precrushers series PG are especially suitable for reducing lumps or blocks of soft and medium-hard materials up to a size of a few centimetres.

They are mainly used to prepare materials that have to be ground or mechanically conveyed afterwards. The obtainable size is particularly suitable to feed mills configured in order to obtain higher fineness.
The allowed feeding size is of 35-40 cm Max. and the production capacity is up to 5 ton/h.

Roll Crusher – Series BI e TR

The smooth roll crushers are particularly suitable to obtain the most medium granules with low dust content, or to grind abrasive, moist, fibrous, heat sensitive products and materials with a tendency to melt.
The maximum allowed feed size for the crusher series BI is from 15 up to 30 mm and the production capacity is from 0,1 to 12 ton/h.
The crushers series TR represent an improvement of the series BI in that the addition of a third roll ensures a high size-reduction ratio. It is therefore possible to both precrush and grind on one mill only. Rotation speed of the rolls can be equal or different to meet several requirements.
TR crushers are designed for the production of medium/small granules (0,2 – 0,3 mm) having narrow granulometric distribution curve.
Both BI and TR crushers are equipped with a special spring device both to adjust grinding intensity and to return the roll in case metallic parts are accidentally fed.

Weighing and bag filling

Nuova Guseo’s weighing and bag-filling units are as simple as reliable equipment. The unit consists of a storage hopper, complete with extracting screw, and of a weighing and bag filling device. The weighing units are equipped with a weight detection system with 3 or 4 load cells, the control unit acting directly on the extracting screw, modulating the screw speed in order to obtain the fast approaching to the selected weight. Subsequently, by reducing the number of revolutions of the screw, it allows to get the maximum weighing precision. Nuova Guseo’s weighing and bag-filling systems are suitable for “open mouth” or “valve” bags and can be supplied, upon request, complete with:

Bag-placing devices.
Dust collection filters.
Roll platforms, adjustable in height for containers of different sizes.
Pneumatic drum locking device and product compacting.
Electronic display for programming the weighing unit.
Complete lines for bag sewing and palletizing.
Sampling devices for bagged product.

The equipment is easy to use, the components are easy to be disassembled for quick cleaning and product change.

Screw conveyors – Series CL

The screw conveyor is one of the most simple and practical means of transport of solid materials. This extremely versatile device allows its use in the most diverse industrial sectors, from the extraction to the chemical, from the food to the pharmaceutical ones. The screw conveyors are essentially constituted by a helicoidal screw, mounted on a shaft supported by bearings which, by rotating, pushes the material to be transported along a dedicated channel. Peculiar characteristics of Nuova Guseo’s screw conveyors are the simplicity of construction, the ease of obtaining a perfect seal of the powders and the small need of maintenance in addition to the low power installed, which, however, is always to be related to the conditions of use, the nature of the conveyed material and the size.

The screw conveyors, typically horizontal, through suitable measures can be effectively used also with high inclinations, depending on the application requirements and process.

Depending on the characteristics of the substances to be transported and the area of application, the screws can be made of different materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, PTFE etc. Special treatments (i.e. antacid coatings) area available upon request.

Nuova Guseo’s screw conveyors can be easily integrated into complete lines of mixing, grinding, micronizing process and much more.

Feeding units – Series DS

The feeding units series “DS” are used in many sectors, such as food, cosmetics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, etc. Nuova Guseo’s dosing systems are designed and manufactured to satisfy particular needs also in case of poorly flowing and/or sticky products and are able to cover a wide range of flow rates, depending on the specific production requirements. This is due to the possibility to vary the number of revolutions of the screw trough a control system consisting of a geared motor controlled by a frequency converter.

They typical configuration comprises a feed hopper installed on the underlying trough, equipped with safety grid and lid, by a dosing screw and a bridge breaker, suitably supported. They are usually assembled on a table support complete with wheels.

In the sanitary version, the parts in contact with the product are made of stainless steel AISI 316L, while the remaining parts are in stainless steel AISI 304.
Both screw and lump breaker can be easily disassembled and, in order to facilitate cleaning operations, feeder’s lower trough can be disconnected from the support by fast-locking clamp. Dust proof is guaranteed by silicone packing on the fixed parts and by “Gylon” lip seals (FDA approved) on the rotating ones (screw and lump breaker). For thorough cleaning it is possible to carry out, when required, an inspection to “Gylon” lip seals, having their seat easily detachable. Given the simplicity of the equipment and the low number of revolutions, the need of maintenance is minimal. For specific requirements were also developed models suitable for dosing operations in completely inert atmosphere.

HORIZONTAL MIXERS

Mixers series “MG RB” and “MG TS”, respectively with single and double shaft, are horizontal type, functioning in continuous. These machines are suitable to mix both dry powders and powders with liquid additives.

Such mixers are made of a rectangular trough, curved at the bottom to form a cylinder (or double cylindrical section tapered also in the center), flanged at the top to a bolted cover, secured by bolts, equipped with charging and inspection door.

These systems are very well known and widely used for several applications in: mining, fodder, foodstuffs, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Mixing takes place by means of a ribbon agitator that causes product to move following crossed lines and allows an excellent homogenization.

In the lower part of the tank is realized the discharging mouth, completely removable, pneumatically operated, and shaped in such a way as to avoid points of non-mixed material. Mixers series RB and TS are single and double shaft respectively and can be supplied with a capacity up to 10.000 l. By adding a lower “V” shaped hopper, having the same capacity as the mixing container, it is possible to work continuously avoiding discharging intervals.

vertical mixers

The vertical mixers are widely used for several applications in: chemical, pharmaceutical, foodstuffs, fodder and mining industries. The application of these mixers is similar to the one of the horizontal type, it is to mix both dry powders and powders with liquid additives.
They can be used also for following processes:

Vacuum drying
Homogenizing
Deaeration
Cooling
Heating

The mixing effect is obtained by means of a screw which rotates on its own axis, conveying product from bottom to the top, and simultaneously orbits along the inner conical vessel wall. Vertical mixer grants particular advantages:

Low power consumption.
Self-emptying with minimun product retention.
Possibilty to work with product volume lower than the maximum design capacity.
Easy installation on load cells.
Possibilty to operate under vacuum or pressure.
Addition of jackets for cooling, heating or insulating.
Very simple cleaning.

Similar to the series VP, the series VPS enables the best ratio of overall dimensions/loading volume thanks to their truncated-conical shaped body. The mixing movement differs in that the agitator is belt type with double spiral device realized by means of sectors fixed on the shaft itself.

cone mills

The cone mill series CM fits among the products with high quality standard that Nuova Guseo has developed and perfected over the years in the field of solid forms particle reduction, for different applications. The cone mill is the ideal solution to obtain a uniform particle size dimension for substances with irregular particle size distribution. The operating principle is simple and effective; the product, once fed into the grinding chamber, is pressed against the surface of the conical calibration grid by means of an impeller. Only once achieved the dimensions imposed by the grid the product is discharged, simply by gravity, into the underlying container. The cone mill can be used, optimally, to grind wet, brittle, gummy products, etc. and it is ideally suitable to meet the production needs of the following areas:

-pharmaceutical
-food
-chemical
-cosmetic

The configuration for pharmaceutical and food application differs for the accuracy of the finishes, and the degree of surface roughness. Furthermore, it complies with cGMP’s regulations and allows separating the mill from its motor. This characteristic permits to place the mill in the working area and the motor in the technical area; in this way it is possible to separate them to proceed with the cleaning and decontamination of the mill in dedicated premises.

Nuova Guseo’s cone mill can be used both as an autonomous system and as an integrated component into complete process lines and can also be configured for installation in isolator in the treatment of highly active principles.
